EDEX 568 Literacy and Content Skill Development PK-12 3.0 Credits

The focus of this course is the literacy skill development of students at-risk for literacy disabilities and delays and those students identified with literacy disabilities. The course will teach a variety of instructional interventions and strategies for improving student decoding, encoding, vocabulary, fluency, and comprehension. Strategies to teach literacy skills in the content areas are also covered. Participants will assess literacy learners and monitor progress towards improved literacy skills. Field experience hours are required.
