EDEX 5011 Individualized Assessment and Intervention: Social, Emotional, and Behavioral 3.0 Credits

This course explores the assessment of, and intervention with, PK-12 students experiencing social, emotional, and behavioral problems. Emphasizing the assessment-intervention link, the course will examine assessment methods to identify social, emotional, and behavioral concerns, and the match and implementation of individualized interventions in advanced tiers of supports. Behavioral assessment techniques across the tiers will be discussed as well as the use of data-based decision making. In addition, students will become familiar with documenting interventions in positive behavior support plans of IEPs. Clearances and field experience hours are required in the course.
