EDEX 5030 Individualized Assessment and Intervention: Students with Complex Learning Needs 3.0 Credits
This course focuses on evidence-based methodologies, instructional strategies and accommodations for PK-12 students with complex disabilities and learning needs, including students with sensory disabilities, intellectual disabilities and autism. There is an emphasis on fostering independence, using effective assessment strategies, and providing age-appropriate services and supports in the least restrictive environment in school and community-based programs. Effective collaboration with family members and educational professionals is highlighted. Clearances and field experience hours are required in the course.
