EDEX 7120 Special Education Leadership: Collaboration, Administration, and Human Resources 3.0 Credits
This course focuses on the knowledge, skills and competencies needed to administer and organize a PK-12 special education program. Students will learn how to gain stakeholder insight and use data to create a plan, develop a budget, and oversee special education personnel to create effective special education programming. Students will understand special education revenue and expenses and how to recruit, hire, orient/mentor, support, and evaluate special education personnel. Effective collaboration with parents and other school administrators will be a focus area.
