EDSP 6065 Working with English Learners 3.0 Credits
This course focuses on the development of school psychology students’ cultural awareness and problem-solving skills to resolve issues that may arise when working with English Learners (ELs). The course is designed to elucidate the concerns ELs face during academic, language acquisition, and assessment processes. By the end of this course, students should have a clear understanding of who ELs are, their multicultural backgrounds, their needs, the most appropriate assessment methods, and evidence-based interventions best suited to fit their needs.
