EDSP 6082 Social, Emotional and Behavioral Wellness in Schools 3.0 Credits
This course focuses on the critical role that social, emotional, and behavioral wellness plays in the academic, social and behavioral development of children and youth, including the role of trauma and adverse childhood experiences. Students will learn about assessments, interventions, and instructional strategies across the tiers related to resiliency and social, emotional, and behavioral wellness. Students will gain an understanding of the critical features of positive, preventative programs (e.g., trauma-informed care, PBIS) as well as crisis planning that support students in school settings. Clearances and field experience hours are required.
