EDU 4120 Family and Community Partnerships 3.0 Credits

Family and Community Partnerships introduces students to the essential role families and communities play in supporting children’s learning and development. Grounded in the belief that every family wants the best for their child, students will explore the diversity of family experiences and identify barriers that can marginalize families. Students will learn how to view cultural aspects of communities as extensions of the classroom, value families as assets, and prioritize engagement as a key component of effective teaching. The course equips future educators with practical strategies for communicating effectively and creating inclusive partnerships. By the end of the course, students will be prepared to design culturally responsive approaches that strengthen family-school-community connections.
