EDU 6330 Understanding Dyslexia and Dysgraphia in Literacy Learners 3.0 Credits

This course prepares reading specialists to understand, identify, and support students with dyslexia and dysgraphia. Candidates will explore the historical perspectives, neurological foundations, and current research on reading and writing disabilities. Emphasis is placed on diagnostic assessment, evidence-based intervention strategies, and understanding key cognitive processes including phonological processing, orthographic knowledge, and working memory.
