EDU 6420 Second Language Teaching and Learning 3.0 Credits
This course will introduce different theories and strategies for second language learning and teaching, and structured literacy with a focus on English learners (ELs) in grades K-12. The course explores how ELs acquire a second language, what factors influence their learning process, and how teachers can effectively adapt language, culture, and content into teaching ELs. This course includes fieldwork and clearances are required.
