EDU 8060 Proseminar in Critical Issues in Urban Education 3.0 Credits
This doctoral proseminar engages students in sustained reading, reflection, and discussion around pressing issues in urban education. Each offering centers on a focused theme—such as teaching and learning, leadership, policy, or community-based education—aligned with faculty expertise and student interests. Through close engagement with contemporary scholarship, students examine how critical issues shape educational experiences across urban contexts. The course emphasizes dialogue, intellectual exploration, and the development of research questions that inform students’ emerging scholarly agendas. Students leave with a deeper understanding of key debates and their implications for research and practice.
