EDU 8200 Designing Learning Environments 3.0 Credits

This doctoral-level course examines the design of learning environments as a site of scholarly inquiry across formal and informal contexts. It focuses on how researchers study and theorize the relationships among pedagogy, space, culture, and participation. Students engage with research on learning design, exploring how environments are structured to support inquiry, collaboration, and identity development. Emphasis is placed on developing research questions, methodological approaches, and analytic frameworks for studying designed learning environments. The course prepares doctoral students to investigate, critique, and contribute to scholarship on the design of learning experiences.
