EDU 8220 Curriculum, Culture, and Community 3.0 Credits

This course examines curriculum as a cultural and social practice situated within communities and broader sociopolitical contexts. Students engage with research on how curriculum reflects, reproduces, and can transform relationships among knowledge, identity, and power. The course explores how educators design and study curriculum that connects with community histories, practices, and priorities. Emphasis is placed on developing research questions and methodological approaches for analyzing curriculum across formal and informal settings. Students will critically examine and contribute to scholarship on curriculum, culture, and community.
