EDU 8240 Teaching and Learning in Informal Educational Settings 3.0 Credits
This course examines teaching and learning as they unfold in informal environments such as museums, libraries, community organizations, and afterschool programs. Students engage with research on facilitation, participation, and identity development in settings where learning is voluntary and interest-driven. The course explores how design, space, and community context shape learning experiences across informal contexts. Emphasis is placed on developing research questions and methodological approaches for studying informal learning.
