EDU 8410 Education Policy in Urban Systems 3.0 Credits
This seminar investigates the development, implementation, and consequences of education policy across urban school systems and related public institutions. Students examine research on governance, accountability, funding, choice, and resource distribution, with attention to intended and unintended outcomes. The course emphasizes reading policy studies critically, comparing methodological approaches, and interpreting evidence across contexts. Students will formulate policy-relevant research questions and assess how findings can inform more effective and equitable urban education systems.
