EDU 8630 Mixed Methods Research Design and Analysis 3.0 Credits

This course explores how qualitative and quantitative approaches can be combined to investigate complex educational questions. Students examine major mixed methods designs, including sequential, convergent, and embedded models, and learn how to align research questions, sampling, data collection, and analysis across strands. Attention is given to integration strategies, validity, and interpretation of combined evidence. Through critique of published studies, students assess how mixed methods research outcomes provide deeper and more actionable understandings of educational practice, policy, and systems.
