EDU 8800 Creative Pedagogies for Urban Learning 3.0 Credits
This seminar examines innovative teaching approaches that cultivate inquiry, expression, and collaboration in urban learning environments. Students engage research on arts-based learning, project-based pedagogy, maker practices, culturally responsive teaching, and community-connected curriculum. The course considers how educators design experiences that build on learners’ strengths and local contexts. Emphasis is placed on analyzing research outcomes related to engagement, identity, achievement, and participation. Students develop frameworks for studying and advancing creative pedagogies across formal and informal settings.
