EDU 8820 Global Perspectives on Urban Education 3.0 Credits
This seminar examines how cities around the world organize learning opportunities amid migration, inequality, demographic change, and rapid urbanization. Students engage comparative research on schooling, community education, governance, and youth development across global contexts. The course explores how local histories and policy environments shape educational responses to shared urban challenges. Emphasis is placed on interpreting research outcomes, comparing methodologies, and identifying lessons transferable across settings. Students develop frameworks for conducting rigorous comparative urban education research.
