EDUC 223 Teaching the Middle School Child 3.0 Credits

This course will explore the middle school environment, developmentally appropriate middle school programs, strategies for supporting students through the transition to middle school, and the impact of peer pressure on the middle school child. The course requires the candidate to apply theories learned in EDUC 123: Adolescent Development to the classroom setting.This course has a Stage 1-2 field component, successful completion of the field component is required for recommendation for certification.
