ENGL 3600 Introduction to Digital Humanities 3.0 Credits
This course introduces the digital humanities—broadly defined as the use of digital tools and methods to conduct humanities research, as well as the study of digital tools and methods—through two main practices of inquiry: the reading and discussion of theory, and guided hands-on experimentation with computational methods. Readings and activities encompass interdisciplinary humanities topics in literature and history, such as archival studies, media and material culture studies, history of the book, Black studies, feminist and queer theory, and disability studies. Previous experience with digital humanities methods is not required.
