ENTP 2290 Applied Entrepreneurship: Land, City, and Sustainability 3.0 Credits
Philadelphia becomes the lab for this exploration of entrepreneurship as a force for sustainable change. Centered around fieldwork, site visits, and applied projects, the course takes students into parks, neighborhoods, and urban corridors to uncover opportunities in land use, blight remediation, ecological restoration, and equitable development. Working directly in the field, students apply systems thinking to examine water, waste, biodiversity, climate, and equity challenges across the city’s natural and built environments. They then transform insights into innovative venture ideas and pilot solutions that align organizational goals with community needs and ecological priorities, offering an immersive hands-on experience in place-based entrepreneurship.
