EOH 5001 Principles and Practice of Environmental Health 3.0 Credits
This interdisciplinary course provides students with an overview of the field of environmental health and introduces approaches for the prevention and control of hazards in the environment and workplace. The course explores issues of global concern such as climate change, air and water pollution, emerging infectious diseases, and worker health and safety. Students will learn basic scientific principles in exposure science, toxicology, and epidemiology as they apply to the practice of environmental public health. Students will examine environmental policymaking and consider how policies and systems may marginalize specific populations and contribute to environmental health disparities.
