EPI 5001 Intermediate Epidemiology 3.0 Credits
Building on the concepts taught in introductory health research methods courses, this course expands into methods that underpin health research. Students will explore a range of intermediate topics, including study design, time scales, measurement, reliability, bias, confounding, stratified analysis, effect modification, applications of multivariable modeling, and basic concepts of causal inference - key tools for making sense of complex health data. By the end of this course, students will be able to integrate intermediate skills in epidemiology to critically appraise public health research studies.
