EPI 6033 Infectious Disease Epidemiology 3.0 Credits
This course introduces the principles and practices of infectious disease epidemiology, emphasizing the biology, transmission, and control of pathogens. Students will explore epidemiologic measures, study designs, and modeling approaches, while examining historical and contemporary public health responses. Topics include modes of transmission, outbreak investigation, emerging infections, healthcare-associated infections, and ethical considerations in containment strategies. Through lectures, case studies, and data analysis, students will develop skills to interpret evidence, evaluate interventions, and apply epidemiologic concepts to real-world scenarios.
