ESTS 562 Water, STEM and Society 3.0 Credits

Science, as a set of ways of knowing, helps us create and refine perspectives of the world around us. Doing science – defined broadly -- helps explain connections between experiences and develop a broader sense of the universe. Centering water in a multiplicity of experienced phenomena, this course engages learners in developing a relational approach to scientific knowledge & practices through investigations that apply broader understanding – and sometimes conflicting explanations – to experiences of phenomena in their own lives. Through investigating the weirdness and importance of water as a substance from a variety of perspectives, learners will develop critical understandings of important environmental issues.
