ET 4440 Mechanical Design 3.0 Credits

This course emphasizes the principles and practices of mechanical design. Students analyze and design mechanical components and machine elements, such as shafts, roller bearings, gears using stress analysis, material selection, theories of failure, and fatigue considerations. Design for static, impact, and fluctuating loads is emphasized, supported by modern CAD and simulation tools for modeling, verification, and communication of mechanical designs.
