This course explores the social and psychological dimensions of appearance and the body, revealing how they shape privilege and power within fashion design. Through social and critical theory, students examine how embodiment connects to design principles and ethics. Integrating sustainability, material practice, and global awareness, the course investigates how environmental, social, and cultural systems influence fashion production and communication. Students engage with textile manufacturing, fiber properties, and sustainable processes to understand how material choices affect aesthetics, performance, and impact.
