FASH 3600 Concept Design and Development 3.0 Credits

In this course students will conduct field research to gather and document inspiration that will inform their design process. This investigative creative practice will be presented in the form of a detailed sketchbook where students will explore fabrics, material manipulation, color, shape and form. Based on their research and using construction and patternmaking skills, students will create several looks. This course emphasizes the importance of sketchbook development, documentation, and how thoughtful, intentional research can be translated into dynamic apparel design.
