FASH 5100 History of Modern Fashion: 1850–Present 3.0 Credits
This course traces the evolution of costume and fashion from 1800 through 1950, including the political, economic, and social influences on the development of the modern fashion system. It explores the use of costume and fashion to establish and communicate identities relating to politics, religion, class, race, and gender.
