GAME 3770 Museum of Game Mechanics 3.0 Credits
This course introduces the topics of game system and mechanics design to students by having them analyze pre-existing games and reverse engineering their design and analyzing their appeal to players. Each term will identify a theme mechanic and students analyze and recreate examples which are compiled into a persistent museum collection of that theme. Students become familiar with production and programming practices by recreating pre-existing game systems. They also are introduced to a variety of game design and cultural concepts, such as the evolution of mechanics design throughout game history.
