GAME 4059 Advanced Topics in Game Studies 3.0 Credits
This advanced course will focus on select issues, challenges, or debates in game studies, including game history. Students can expect to explore scholarly writing and games (analog and digital) related to a singular topic or theme for the duration of the term. Subject matter, related activities, and assessments evolve with the field. Activities may include student creation of original analyses of games, co-creative play activities as experiential examinations, a research paper that integrates studies of games with scholarly sources, or the creation of their own experimental games that respond to the course materials.
