GSST 2001 Global Feminisms 3.0 Credits

Feminisms and its activisms have always been a global phenomenon, and never restricted to one culture, context, or location. This course introduces students to feminisms on a global level through a focus on learning key concepts and methods such as intersectionality, postcolonial feminisms, decolonization, and interconnectedness. The course does not survey various forms of feminisms across the globe. It focuses on the critical tools necessary for analyzing and researching how issues such as education, health, environment, and labor are globally manifested. It will also explore how feminist interests and organizations have globalized into transnational movements for social change and political innovation. Suitable for students from across disciplines.
