GSST 2010 Gender, Feminism, and the Body 3.0 Credits
This course investigates different types of writing, such as narrative journalism, personal essays, political writing, and fiction that expand and complicate our understanding of the body and experience. Utilizing interdisciplinary approaches to the notions of ‘text’ and ‘writing’, students will learn to analyze their own relations to reading and knowledge production. Emphasis is placed on the creative and spatial interventions of feminisms in how ideas of gender and body come together in the principle issues impacting experience. Suitable for students from across disciplines. This course fosters innovation and intellectual independence to inform future work in any chosen field of inquiry.
