GSST 2015 Sex, Gender, and Love 3.0 Credits
This course explores the intimate relations of sex, gender, and love and how they constitute the fundamental elements of human experience. It studies the ways intimate relations bear upon history, influence languages, and structure social and political life through a range of potential topics, including how sex and gender organize families and work life, sexual ethics and taboo experiences, and links between desire and politics. This course encourages new modes of analyzing the ways prevalent understandings regarding sex, gender, and love impact their own intimate relations and broader experiences. Suitable for students from across disciplines.
