GSST 2020 The Ethics and Politics of Care 3.0 Credits
This course examines the practice and value of care across feminist traditions. Feminists have variously foregrounded care as a form of work, a source of moral insight, a site of domination, and a locus of politics. This course will compare these interpretations and consider the extent to which they conflict, drawing on a range of resources such as Black feminist theory, Marxist feminisms, feminist moral philosophy, and feminist new materialisms. Students interested in feminist theory from any disciplinary background will benefit from the course.
