GSST 3010 Gender, Race, and Work 3.0 Credits
This course considers the nature, distribution, and politics of work with a focus on gendered and racialized hierarchies. Topics may include social reproduction, sex work, affective labor, care labor and domestic work, gendered labor migration, automation and digital labor, and post-work futures. Students will engage with empirical, historical, and social theoretical perspectives to assess the roles of gender and race in structuring work lives.
