HIST 1470 Religion, Science, and Medicine 3.0 Credits
This course examines key episodes in the historical interactions among religion, science, and medicine from the distant past to the near-present to better understand the relations between these powerful social forces. The primary focus is on the interactions between Western science and medicine and the three main monotheistic faiths of the Mediterranean (Christianity, Judaism, and Islam), but students in the course have the opportunity to examine other contexts as well.
