HIST 2370 History of Russia 3.0 Credits
This course surveys Russian history from its medieval origins, through the Tsarist period, and into the Soviet and Perestroika eras. Based on the reading of recent historical scholarship, students examine the political, social, economic, and cultural dimensions of Russian history. Following recent trends in Russian historiography, the course explores the broad geographic, ethnic, cultural, and political changes extending across Russia's Western European cities to its Far Eastern states.
