HIST 2500 U.S. Military History 3.0 Credits

A survey of key moments in the development of American military institutions and warmaking from the colonial period to the present, during which Americans engaged in a centuries-long campaign to conquer North America and then become a colonial empire and then a global superpower. Students learn to interpret historical events in light of geopolitics, grand strategy, military doctrine, and strategic principles. Moreover, students then learn to apply these concepts and prior history to understand war and global events in the present and future.
