HIST 2550 World War II and Global Politics 3.0 Credits
This course examines World War II as a global conflict that reshaped politics, societies, and international relations in the twentieth century. The course analyses key moments and dynamics such as the rise of fascism and imperial ambitions, genocide, forced labor, racial hierarchies, and the use of atomic bombs. Students examine the connected experiences of soldiers and civilians across Europe, Asia, the Americas, Africa, and the Pacific. Students will develop a global understanding of the ways the war reshaped international relations, transformed global political institutions, and remade political consciousness, which accelerated the emergence of liberation movements and decolonization.
