This course introduces the economics of health and health care. Topics covered include: the production of health, the demand for medical care, healthcare production and costs, determinants of the supply of medical care, payment systems, health insurance, problems in health insurance markets (adverse selection and moral hazard), and economic aspects of healthcare reform.
