HSAD 3309 Advanced Health Care Ethics 3.0 Credits

This course explores complex and emerging ethical issues in health care, research, and public health from an interdisciplinary perspective. Topics include biomedical research and innovative technology, genetics, abortion and human reproduction, medical aid in dying, and distributive justice. Relevant to all students, the course emphasizes responsibilities to those needing care. Using practical cases, readings, discussion, and debate, students evaluate diverse views and apply practical reasoning to recognize, understand, and analyze difficult ethical issues as they arise.
