HSCI 2001 Health Assessment through the Lifespan 4.0 Credits
This course introduces students to the principles and practice of health assessment across the lifespan. Students develop foundational clinical skills, including health history taking, vital signs measurement, and selected components of the physical examination. Emphasis is placed on effective patient communication, professional behavior, and the use of appropriate clinical terminology for documentation. Through hands-on laboratory experiences and simulated clinical encounters, students apply structured assessment techniques to identify normal and abnormal findings across major body systems. Age- and sex-related considerations, patient safety, and teamwork in simulated clinical environments are integrated throughout the course to prepare students for future clinical and professional practice.
