HSCI 4040 Pathophysiology 3.0 Credits
Building on a foundation of normal anatomy and physiology, this course examines the major disruptions of normal structure and function that underlie disease processes in the major organ systems. Students explore the fundamental mechanisms of disease development, progression, and clinical presentation, with emphasis on common human pathophysiological conditions and syndromes. The course integrates risk factors, clinical manifestations, and basic therapeutic and preventive concepts to support application of pathophysiology to real-world health scenarios.
