INTR 3503 Materials and Methods III 3.0 Credits
This course focuses on design-build and fabrication. Students apply their knowledge of materials, assemblies, and detailing to the design and construction at full-scale. Working individually or in teams, students conceive, prototype, and fabricate interior-scale installations such as furniture, exhibition, or lighting designs. The course emphasizes the integration of digital and analog processes, collaboration with industry partners, and attention to craft, performance, and user experience. Projects may connect to concurrent studio work or to research interests such as sustainability, adaptive reuse, or spatial storytelling. By completing a realized or prototyped work, students demonstrate the translation of design intent into material form.
