INTR 4998 Interior Capstone Project I 3.0 Credits
This course guides students through the development of an independent, research-driven design project. Emphasis is placed on advanced research methods, including qualitative and quantitative analysis, precedent and case study evaluation, stakeholder and user research, and interpretation of regulatory and contextual constraints. Students conduct site evaluation and selection, define a project problem statement, and prepare a comprehensive program outlining goals, performance criteria, spatial needs, and conceptual direction. Through structured inquiry and mentorship, they build the specialized knowledge needed for an evidence-based design solution. The course culminates in a fully developed capstone research and programming document.
