INTR 6101 Advanced Studio I 4.0 Credits

This graduate-level studio investigates the integration of concept and materiality within small- to medium-scale interior environments. Students explore how tectonics, form, and use intersect to produce spatial meaning and experience. Students learn how space is generated through design decisions related to threshold, movement, materiality, and atmosphere. The course emphasizes design as a process of world building—where spatial episodes, transitions, and material conditions produce meaning. Emphasis is placed on conceptual development, iterative design process, digital and analog modes of representation, and experimentation with materials and spatial assemblies.
