IPS 511 Collaboration with Vulnerable Populations 3.0 Credits

This course addresses the following questions: Why is zip code a more significant determinant of health than genetic code for most people? How can patients/clients, practitioners from different professions, and other people in a community become partners in quests for good health, given the vulnerability inherent in illness, injury, inequities, and differences of many kinds? The course will empower students to develop a practical understanding of social determinants of health and the potential for interprofessional collaboration to improve health, especially with vulnerable populations.
