IS 3122 Computer Forensics 3.0 Credits
Introduces the foundational concepts, methodologies, and hands-on techniques used in computer forensics. Students use industry-standard forensic tools such as network protocol analyzer software to examine packet captures, Nmap for host discovery, tools for vulnerability scanning, Shodan for Internet-exposed asset enumeration, and antivirus software for malware triage along with file/URL reputation analysis. Examines foundational malware concepts, including common malware types, behavioral indicators, and how malicious activity is identified during forensic examinations.
