IS 4470 Network Data Analysis 3.0 Credits

Introduces the theory and analytic methods used to study complex networks through data analysis. The course emphasizes core concepts such as centrality, cohesion, prestige, and community structure, as well as computational approaches for modeling networks in online and offline environments. Students learn to collect, process, and visualize network data and to model relationships, detect communities, and interpret structural patterns using modern programming and analytical tools. Applications span social, economic, and organizational contexts. Throughout the course, students complete a series of programming assignments and support a team project that analyzes and/or builds, as well as communicates insights from a network data set.
