IS 5412 Cloud Computing and Scalable Data Processing 3.0 Credits

This course covers cloud deployment and scaling of data processing and analytics workloads. Covers principles of scalable data analysis in both on-premises and cloud-based computing environments; distributed and streaming data processing; cloud-native data storage, processing, and analytics; data product deployment and monitoring; data storage paradigms; and large-scale data storage. Hands-on assignments and instruction provide both experience with distributed and cloud-based data science technologies and comparative discussions to support evaluating different scalable data technologies for a particular organization and workload, as well as demonstrate research opportunities for applying or improving scalable data analytics.
